Belden Bottom Line features a funky New Orleans second-line groove and solos for guitar, alto sax, piano, and drums. Sections may be opened up of more soloists. Winner of the 2009 Michael Arenson Award (University of Delaware) for best jazz band arrangement.




Simply Good Pals is an original composition based on the chord changes to Just Friends. It is a feature for flugelhorn and the saxophone section. The solos can be opened to feature all sections of the band.





Squirrel is an arrangement of a blues in F by Tadd Dameron. Written in the style of a Sammy Nestico/Count Basie chart, the arrangement features an open solo section and an exciting bebop sax soli.
